I wanna make my hair wavy, so I wanna spray salt into my hair to make it curly. But does it HAVE to be sea salt? Or can you just use regular salt?

i tried the herbal essence dangerously straight finishing spray to keep my hair straight but it just kinda clumps my hair strands together..
use a chi- a lot of heat will keep your hair straight. i dont recommend using a chi everyday because so much heat isnt good for your hair. unfortunately there isnt any other way to keep your hair straight. i know that chis are expensive so just use the highest heat setting on your flat iron and brush your hair throughout the day. hope this helps :)

Flat iron it but dont use anything on it... Allow ur hair to dry completely b4 flat ironning it... Whats happening is that it is till wet and thats why it curls up again. Sprays make it not last long for me* plus gives it a yucky feeling..
you can have your hair professionally straightened in a salon then you would have to worry about straightening your hair or having it curl back during the day.
this sounds like a lot of damage to your hair when you could easily solve this problem. JUST SHAVE YOUR DAMN HEAD BALD!

Soak your hair in hydrogen peroxide
put lemon juice in your hair if you want your hair to be neon orange.
try putting heena in your hair.
i heard that if you have dark hair and you shampoo with stuff made for blondes it will actually lighten your hair. try sheer blonde from john frieda and it should bring out your lighter tones without coloring.
First of all the lemon juice thing only works if you sit under the sun. Second of all if you put lemon juice in dark hair and sit under the sun it will turn your hair red. Honestly, the only way to lighten dark hair is to dye it.
the only way u can lighten ur hair with lemon juice is if u put it in ur hair and then go into the sun... umm it matters what color hair u have.. if u have blonde u can use peroxide... if u have brown u can use henna.... and black.. i dont know about =]
It is true, as is standing under the sun. But that would take a lot of time, and a lot of lemons to get it to make a real difference - and would damage your hair just as much as dyeing it. And dyeing only takes half an hour if that!
Going to a profesional is your best option, because lightening dark hair (which needs a permanent dye by the way) is known for resulting in accidents (the usual is your hair turns bright orange).
ALL hair colours can be dyed light, but it requires bleach.
Henna will turn your hair red, it is made of red pigment, bleach will remove the colour from your hair, and then you can dye over that hair with the colour you desire - which can be any colour light or dark!

If you have black hair no matter how you look at it you will have to strip the color from your hair which is not good for your hair. I am not saying that you would have to stip all the color from it but any form of lightening is stripping it. You wouldnt be dying it. Dying your hair is when you are adding color to it . Just like when you dye clothes. You can add color and change a lighter color to a darker color but to change a dark color to a lighter color you have to strip the color from it first. Black hair has a way of usually coming out a redish color no matter what and not brown. Before you start experimenting I would talk to a hair stylist first that can show you what type of results you can expect.
I hear sprays have alcohol which dry out your hair, and gels slow hair growth. I'd like to avoid using any types of irons cause those tend to be damaging, too.
Any other alternatives?

Well I have the same problem myself. I have fine hair since I'm Asian. To really help aid the situation, you have several alternatives. You can take vitamins to help your hair grow stronger and thicker. I generally take a multi-vitamin along with zinc on a daily basis. You can also cut your hair in layers. That will help give you more body and make you look like you have more hair. Remember that the more hair you cut, the more volume you'll get. I used to have hair down to the middle of my back, but eventually cut it to about two inches below my neck and it was the best thing I ever did. Even though I missed my hair, my mom said that I finally had life to my face. My long hair used to drag my face down making me look lifeless all the time, but this really helped it. Plus, the fact that I used Paul Mitchell's strengthening shampoo and conditioner helped it look even thicker. My bf always was a firm believer that if you're going to spend money on a product, get the best. And at first I'd go with the cheap Pantene brand, but after much coaxing switched to Paul Mitchell and can never go back. Good luck to you in the search for more body. Just have the ends cut in a blunt cut. That makes your hair look fuller and healthier.
u can try moose at ur roots when ur hair is damp and take a round brush ( or velcro rollers) and blow dry this will give u more lift. gel doesnt slow down the growth of ur hair . also if ur not afriad to cut ur hair try some layers in the back this too could help .

Try using a shampoo that is volumizing. Tressemme has a good one. Also gels do not slow hair growth. Hot rollers are not as damaging to hair as curling irons are. Hope this helps.
ease up on conditioner this will weigh your hair down, also use a diffuser and dry hair upside down
Pretty much if you are stuck with fine hair it's not going to ever have much body. Layering helps, but a lot of times you can't layer fine hair. If you braid your hair, lots of braids, or french braids, or curlers, or braids and curlers and sleep with that (ouch), you will have some body, but a lot of times with fine hair that doesn't last very long.
i want to use those dyes that spray in for my hair. i also want them to wash out when i want them to but not fade. i have no clue where to get them. can you help?
If you have blonde hair it may stay in longer than you want but you can easily get it out by deep cleansing shampoos. Sally's Beauty Supply has a wide variety of spray in clrs. Hopefully your not talking about covering gray because there isn't anything for that.If you have brown hair you may need to use brighter clrs to show up.
u can use the herbal essence hair dye mousse. it washes out in about 3 weeks. it is in a little can and it mousse. u can get it in all different colors. and u can find it in pretty much anywhere that has hair dye. it is about 4 dollars a can. depending on how dark u want it and how thick ur hair is use all of the bottle or 2. it works great
What is the best shampoo/conditioner for long, frizzy, curly hair that won't will poof when not moussed or sprayed. Also what hair products work best to keep curls soft and curly so that they can be worn down without looking messy -- like some of the styles on tv.
Pantene Pro V for Curly hair, its the only one that makes my curls nice, sepearted and springy and gets the knots out!!!
ok .. i have the same issue LOL.... believe or not .. i jsut switched to SUAVE .. yes SUAVE.. for curly hair.. it works great.. its a new line they have.. finally something .. but i do like to change it up every few months....been using it for 2 months and im happy with it ... they also have a line of products.. and its saving me $$$

I have similar hair to the way in which you have described yours. The shampoos that I have found work best are Sunsilk for waves and curls, Kerastase Bain Satin 3 (quite expensive) and I also like the boots coconut and almond deep conditioner. I would also sugguest using Pantene Pro-V mousse on slightly towel dried hair. Then scrunch it up with your hands and spray on some Pantene Pro-V curl gel spray. If you don't already have a hair diffuser, it is definately 100% worth investing in as it evens out the air flow of your hairdryer to prevent frizz and it defines your curls. I think you would find that most celebrities with natural movement in their hair use a diffuser. Hope this helps x

Do you have a blow dryer? Take a brush and blow your hair while dragging the brush through your hair tightly. It's also going to straighten it but you won't have frizz. Or use some pommade if you have it. But if you are using something to bring out your curls then it is working against you trying not to have frizz. A tiny bit of pommade can make the frizzies disappear.
what about using a good anti frizz conditioner??? they seem to work on me.
Swip a Dryer sheet over/Thourgh your hair..Then Spary with a light hair spray
Try a lil bit of lotion, not too much or it will be greasy but just enough to slick it down, be careful around your roots, because it gets greasy lookin really easy there
Well, today the frizz probably won't leave. I suggest for future to wash your hair with a really good shampoo conditioner set designed for curly hair. When I was permed I like fresh curls by redken. For today, I suggest putting the hair up in a loose messy bun and adding a nice head scarf. Simple but nice. I really don't think all the above product is necessary so I'd say good shampoo conditioner and just the curl perfecting spray. Oh, stay away from heat tools because they equal frizz no matter how good of hair care you have.

or you can go to a salon and buy this serum that gets rid of frizz. its called silk but you can get it in other brands but its kinda expensive but it works i use it.
Stop washing it all the time- if you have curyl hair you should wash it no more than once a week and with a shampoo that does not contain laurelyth sulfates as this cleaning agent will make your hair frizzy since its job is to remove grease. Curly hair needs some oil to keep in shape.
for a way to end frizzy hair try garnier fructis sleek and shine or the garnier fructis body and volume. it will leave your hair stronger and so shinier. stop using it and your hair will be messed up, but keep using it and your hair will do wonders for you. give it a shot.
